Magnaprobe with Magnetic Globe

The Earth acts like it has a huge bar magnet located at its center. This set contains a globe that is 110 mm wide with a magnet contained along its axis. The magnaprobe contains a small magnet that is allowed to rotate on two axes. This set illustrates the path of the magnetic field along the surface of a globe. The closer to the  poles, the steeper the angle of the magnetic field. This is useful in demonstrating the large magnetic field that exists on the Earth. The activity guide contains information about the Earth’s magnetic  field, Van Allen belts, and the northern lights.
