This consistometer is the ideal tool to measure consistency and flow rate of viscous substances. The rate of sample flow is measured by observing how far it travels during a specific time interval. A consistometer is commonly used to test consistency of products such as sauces, jams/jellies, dressings, paint, and chemicals.
The consistometer is made of polished stainless steel construction with easy to read 0.5 cm increments. The spring-loaded gate holds about 75 mL of sample. Two leveling screws adjust the angle, and a spirit level helps with precision.
